Carmelo Pennisi (1927–2019) was one of the founding members of the Stanthorpe Pottery. He has an entry in the 1981 directory where he is based at 57 Amosfield road in Stanthorpe, a town in south-east Queensland near the NSW border. The 1981 entry says that Pennisi was a mainly self taught potter running a small farm, teaching music and making mostly thrown domestic stoneware and decorative ware out of local materials.
